Akrosphere is a proud member of:
AKROSPHERE AERIAL & CIRCUS ARTS SCHOOL
A note from Jen, “Head Monkey Wrangler” of Akrosphere Aerial & Circus Arts:
Coach-less circus training. Le sigh.
Aubrey taught herself.
Most cyr wheel students start out trying to teach themselves, and Aubrey was no exception.
However, Ashley was improving very slowly.
Like…barely improving at all.
Aubrey’s mom finally enrolled her at Akrosphere Aerial & Circus Arts School.
Here’s the note Aubrey’s mom sent us after her first day, in Aubrey’s own words:
“Mom – I learned more today than I have in the past 4 months!”
We know our stuff.
We had to move backwards with Aubrey a little before we moved forwards. She had learned technique incorrectly on her own, and to keep her shoulders safe, we had to undo incorrect technique before we could move forward.
Imagine how fast she would have improved if she started with us to begin with, and we didn’t have to undo bad habits.
You can learn without qualified coaches on your own or from friends, but ultimately you will do damage to your body that you won’t discover until you are much older.
You can also lick a car battery.
Just because you can doesn’t mean you should.
Aubrey stayed with us and eventually became a professional level cyr wheel artist. She is currently happily pursuing a professional circus life.
Akrosphere is about teaching your child to do awesome things WHILE keeping them safe in every way. That includes ensuring their safety in the future from the training they do today. And safe training does ensure awesome things.
